The Role

This role is responsible to drive enterprise applications and digital technology strategy, adoption of digital technologies for enterprise functions, oversee the implementation of such technologies and operational support post implementation. In addition, this role will also support technology enablement and support for new business models, product/solution development, Global IT and R&D initiatives. This role reports to the HAL IT CIO. Partner and influence across a broad group of cross-functional stakeholders to drive alignment and adoption of prioritized initiatives.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead technology strategy, function as primary point of contact and source of expertise on technology strategy aligned to enterprise applications, digital solutions framework and new business models.

  • Accountability for enterprise applications (SAP, SFDC), developing digital solutions – ServiceNow, DX Strategy(Data Lake, Data Pipe-line, Analytics), Metaverse, Integrated middle-ware solutions – Enterprise applications, sustainable solutions, 5G, Application modernization.

  • Collaborate with IT architecture council on new emerging technologies.

  • Provide IT enablement and support for new product development and R&D initiatives by business verticals.

  • Work with business partners and stakeholders to develop solutions to enable new business models leveraging next gen technologies and capabilities like DX, Metaverse.

  • Develop strategy for Data Management and Analytics platforms and solutions, including data lake, that will maximize and improve business performance.

  • Provide direction, leadership and/or influence for the development, implementation and continuous improvement of all systems working with internal teams and external partners to improve and/ or design new functionality to meet business needs.

  • Responsible for support and operations of Hitachi America managed Enterprise, web, digital and middleware applications.

  • Assess systems, policies, and procedures against standard benchmarks to identify opportunities for system and process improvements.

  • Responsible for providing strategic and operational direction to team – team responsible for execution of the strategic and approved initiatives under this role’s oversight and guidance.

  • Manage a team of management leads, functional Analysts, solution architects and Technical Consultants.

  • Provide training opportunities and career development plans to develop staff, minimize skill gaps, and build internal competency.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the team, foster an environment that encourages employee participation, teamwork, and communication.

  • Lead solution review and change control board key decisions, methodology, framework, and governance for digital solutions and new business models.

  • Communicate frequently with the CIO and team lead stakeholders to ensure alignment with strategic direction and priorities.

  • Collaborate with business owners to define and manage business roadmap. Work with HAL IT cross-functional internal team and external stakeholders to ensure IT services meets objectives of shared service customers.

  • Assess cost and benefits of proposed IT initiatives to recommend best fit and cost-effective solutions in collaboration with the Architecture council.

  • Manage customer escalations for initiatives in their portfolio and be the first level escalation point of contact, for managing customer expectation, satisfaction, and escalations for such initiatives.

  • Manage functional budget and ensure not to exceed budget for planned initiatives.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Masters in IT or business administration is a plus. MBA preferred.

  • 18+ Years of IT Business partnership experience and/or IT account management experience.

  • Proven track record of leading successful digital transformation projects and product management.

  • Understand core business processes and associated technical solutions and have experience as a management consultant.

  • Detail oriented, analytical, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Have an innovative and disruptive mindset, constantly looking forward towards change.

  • Experience managing and building high performing technology and functional teams.

  • Proven influencing and collaboration skills with senior executives.

  • Requires excellent communication skills, analytical ability, strong judgment and management skills, and the ability to work effectively with IT and business.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to engage the C-level and senior management in business and IT independently.

  • Excellent presentations skills, experience in defining value drivers, KPIs, Balance score card and proficiency with standard office productivity software for writing contracts, analyzing data, and creating presentations.

  • Experience with contract and vendor negotiations and management including managed services.

For California only (as required by California’s Pay Transparency for Pay Equity Act (SB 1162): The expected salary for this position in our California office is $193,920 - $242,400. Pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area. Employees are eligible to participate in Hitachi America’s variable pay program, subject to the program’s conditions and restrictions.
